9-year-old kills 8-point buck with crossbow

Langston Campbell aged 9 got his first 8pt with crossbow at 20 yards…him and I watched this deer bed 60-70 yards from us Wednesday morning and I promise you. The deer bedded in that bed for 10 hours, he didn’t eat, he didn’t drink. He would only stand to relive himself and stretch his legs and then lay right back down..the experience that day was something I have never seen at age 46. He finally stood up close to 6pm that day and left the scene becuase he saw two smaller bucks heading his way and he challenged them and escorted them away from his bedding area. When he got out of sight we exited the blind relieved we could finally leave. If folks have ever heard the “lock down” which happens when bucks and doe don’t move much while in the breeding process…he had us on lock down for 11 hrs. He showed this morning escorted by two doe and made the mistake of coming in close enough for Langston to seal the deal. Deer ran maybe 80yrds before expiring. Proud moment for me..for kid to return to a blind he was miserable and exited all in the same time to go back. Is something you don’t see in a kid everyday!!
