On 11/27/2023, after work I headed straight for the woods. I climbed my stand and heard something fall out of my pocket, hit the ladder, then the leaves. I looked down then looked up and saw a lone buck on the other side of the creek. He disappeared behind some trees for a few moments before reappearing 30-40 yards away from me. I placed a shot behind his left shoulder and he ran up the opposite hill a short distance before sliding back down the hill to the creek bank. I feel truly blessed to have harvested such a nice deer and to have a friend who was willing to drop everything to help retrieve it and enjoy the moment with.
