81-year-old harvested Union County giant

81-year-old

81-year-old hunter still enjoys the great outdoors

Jim Purser from Monroe, NC was hunting a funnel of hardwoods and creek bottom that is a 100 yards wide between his son’s yard and a 1/2-acre food plot on the morning of Nov. 2. 2023. He was sitting in a box blind when he heard a noise to his left. He leaned up and looked out the window and saw horns and grabbed his CVA immediately. The buck was only 30 yards away and went down in his tracks. The buck was 198 pounds and was rough scored around 145 inches. Jim also harvested a 17-inch wide 9-point earlier in the week. Jim is 81 with rheumatoid arthritis, but still climbs stands and is still bow hunting and enjoying what he loves, the great outdoors.
