It was youth day in Vance County, N.C. Me and my 6-year-old little girl got in the woods early that morning. We were sitting there waiting for something to show up. All of a sudden here he comes. We have had him on camera on my wife’s corn pile for months.
I handed her her gun and told her to shoot. She put the gun on her shoulder and set it up right on her shooting sticks. I told her if she had a clear shot to pull the trigger. She shot, then she did something I will never forget. She looked up at me and said “daddy did I get him? did I do a good job?” and I told her you sure did baby. He only ran about 50 yards. That is a moment neither of us will forget.
