Rhodes Karriker
I was hunting Saturday morning when this nice 10 pointer came out from behind me. I was using a Christensen arms 308. I rattled and grunted at 7:55. After rattling and grunting I put the antlers back in the bag and as soon as I had put them in my book bag, the deer came from behind me so I was already standing up facing the direction he was coming from. I instantly grab my rifle and use the pine tree as a rest. He was behind two pine trees and some other thick brush and I never had a clear shot on him at first. With my elbow clip the mag out of my gun and it landed on the bottom piece of my climber. The deer became skittish and started walking off. That was when he gave me a Clear look. I shot him and he only ran 30 yards. I have been watching this deer on camera for the last two years. This was killed out in kershaw county 15 minutes past health Springs in South Carolina. The deer tarsals reaked As he had been rutting. I had this dear own camera all of last year and he was about the same size as he is now. I hadn’t had a camera out since August and figured this deer was probably long gone maybe even dead.
