I caught this Tarpon at Emerald Isle Point in NC on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2023 at 8 a.m. It took around 55 minutes to finally land it with non-stop jumps and lots of runs. At one point it had nearly spooled my line at over 150 yards, but I managed to keep it on. I was using a Penn Pursuit 4000 with a 9 1/2-foot spinning rod with 50-pound braid. The fish had a length of 78 1/2 inches. We did not get girth and have no idea how much it weighed.
