Lightning strikes fishing rod at Outer Banks

Lightning turned the rod to hairy dust

John Foster was fishing North Carolina’s Outer Banks on May 16, 2022 when lightning struck one of his fishing rods. Luckily the rod was in the rod holder attached to Foster’s camper instead of in his hands. What was left didn’t look anything like a fishing rod. The strike turned it into what looks like long strands of tangled hair.
