Emersyn Edwards killed an 8-point buck in Union County, NC on Sept. 28, 2026.
She shot the buck with a Remington 300 ultra mag. during an afternoon hunt while sitting in an elevated stand from 365 yards away.
Edwards’ dad summed up the hunt with these words:
“Having had to miss Saturdays hunts due to a softball tournament. Emersyn wasn’t going to miss Sunday afternoon. She’s killed plenty of deer, but with her sister shooting her first on Saturday she couldn’t not go.
Sitting in the stand talking about college decisions coming up and life in general. This deer steps out at 345 yards, she said dad there’s a buck. I turn to her side of the stand and realize it’s decision time. We looked him over and discussed past harvest, then the decision was hers. When she decided to shoot I ranged him for her and she executed the shot perfectly. He ran 30 yards and that was it. Great hunt Emersyn.”
Edwards is now entered in our Bag-A-Buck Contest, and is eligible to win our monthly prize pack, which includes a set of Ultimate Eyes & Ears Combo from ShellShock Pro, a YETI Rambler bottle, a prize package from Buck Commander and Duck Commander, and a Carolina Sportsman hat, as well as our Grand Prize, a 2-day hunt for two to Cherokee Run Hunting Lodge in Chesterfield County, SC.
