Minn Kota’s Talon is a shallow-water anchoring system that makes it easy to stop the boat when an angler hooks a fish. This type of anchoring system is a staple on redfish tournament boats because it is so effective.
As the angler moves along with the aid of a trolling motor, he may see or hook a fish. With the flip of a switch, the Talon powers down. The shaft penetrates the bottom to stop the boat instantly, preventing the it from continuing along and possibly scaring away a school of fish.
Deploying it is much quieter and easier than dropping and retrieving a standard fluked anchor with a rope and chain.
