Tournament will last 101 days
The Coastal Conservation Association-South Carolina opened its third annual STAR tournament on July 1. Registered anglers will have 101 days to try and catch a tagged redfish and win a boat.
The tournament, open to CCA-SC members, will award two Sea Hunt BX 22 boats, rigged with 150hp Yamaha outboards, on Wesco trailers — the package is valued at $43,000 — to the first two fishermen entered in the tournament to catch a tagged redfish.
The tournament runs from July 1 through Oct. 4.
CCA-SC officials caught, tagged and released 60 redfish from Little River to Hilton Head and everywhere in-between. During the first two CCA-SC STAR tournaments, anglers have caught a tagged redfish but were unable to claim the prize because they were not registered for the tournament.
