Waterfowl Photo Contest voting begins

Vote today in the 2012 Waterfowl Photo Contest!

The contest, which was free to all registered users of SouthCarolinaSportsman.com, features photos from this year’s waterfowl season. Users will choose the ultimate winner of the contest by voting on their favorite photo from among four finalist images as chosen by site administrators.The winner will receive a $25 gift coupon to the online Sportsman Store, along with a free one-year subscription to South Carolina Sportsman magazine.

Up for the final voting are photos taken by two users: happyman1960 and Blake Hodge.

Voting will continue until Monday morning.

User happyman1960, who joined the site on Jan. 3, entered a photo showing a hunter camoed out and bundled up in the blind waiting on a flight of birds. The breaking dawn lights the scene perfectly.

“The sunrise that morning almost made me forget I was there to shoot some ducks,” happyman1960 wrote. “Life’s about memories, so try and make a good one every chance you get.”

His second image shows the results of a successful hunt.

“Two groups of wood ducks came in, of which I was blessed to get two,” he wrote.

Blake Hodge is no stranger to the site, and he took two photos that caught the eyes of the site administrators.

The first is s striking image showing a dead greenhead lying behind a spend Kent shotgun shell.

Blake also posted an image of team “Wrecking Crew” with brace of mallards.
