SCDNR Take One Make One program will provide training and lunch
The SCDNR is dedicated to getting kids involved in the outdoors, and their Take One Make One (TOMO) program spends a lot of time, energy, and resources to make sure we pass those outdoor traditions on to the next generation.
On Jan. 15, the organization will be holding a free you duck hunting clinic from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Jan. 15 is a holiday for many schools and businesses. What better way for out-of-school youth to spend their time than learning about duck hunting? And parents are also encouraged to join in.
The clinic will be held in Laurens County, and it is limited to 25 participants aged 10 to 17. This is a hands-on clinic and will include firearms safety, hunting, game prep, and cooking.
Plenty of time is left in the current waterfowl season, so these young hunters will have the opportunity to put what they learn in the clinic into action immediately.
