Survey on dove hunting closes Jan. 15

Take the SCDNR's dove hunting survey before Jan. 15 to give the agency your input.

Survey will help SCDNR on future dove hunting seasons

If you could change anything about South Carolina’s dove hunting season, what would it be? The SCDNR is conducting a survey to give hunters a chance to voice their opinions on dove hunting in the Palmetto State.

Would you change the daily bag limit? How about the starting date of the season – would you have it always start on Labor Day or the first Saturday in September?

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service allows hunters to pursue doves all day long, but the SCDNR makes all-day hunting legal only after the first week of the season. Would you like to see that changed, or do you like it the way it is?

These questions, along with a few more, are on the survey, which is open only through Jan. 15. The survey is to help guide the SCDNR in future decisions about dove hunting seasons. Click here to take the survey.
