Several South Carolina WMAs closed temporarily

Bear Island and a handful of other WMAs are currently closed due to storm damage.

Hunting, other activities suspended until further notice

The SCDNR has closed several WMAs temporarily.

Due to persistent flooding and damage to roads caused by Hurricane Irma, Bear Island WMA, Donnelley WMA, Hamilton Ridge WMA, and Botany Bay WMA will be closed until further notice. Staff will be monitoring water levels and working diligently to clear and repair roads. Members of the public are advised to check the website frequently for additional closures across the state and re-opening of closed properties.

Limited access is available to the Waccamaw River Heritage Preserve due to elevated river levels.
