Seven adult male hunters were winners at the 2024 Dixie Deer Classic, held March 1 – 3 at the NC State Fairgrounds.
Rick Nightengale won Best by Muzzleloader, Typical Male Award for his Stokes County buck that officially scored 170 inches. Nightengale also won the Best of Show Award for the deer, which he killed at his friend Jonathan Humphrey’s property in early November.

Grayson Clayton won Best by Crossbow, Typical Male Award. His Forsyth County buck scored 163 inches.
Michael Skipper hit the stage, winning Best by Bow, Typical Male Award for his Cumberland County buck that scored 158 1/2 inches.
The Best by Muzzleloader, Non-typical Male Award went to David Kiefer for his 175-inch Cumberland County buck.
Carson Reece killed a Vance County buck that scored 163 7/8 inches, and won the Best by Gun, Typical Male Award.
Alan Webb won a President’s Award for his Orange County buck that scored 172 1/8 inches.
BJ Richardson also won a President’s Award for his 174 7/8-inch buck from Rockingham County.
