18 awards given to male deer hunters

Eighteen male hunters won awards at the 2026 Dixie Deer Classic, including four youth hunters and 14 adults.

Wyatt Oakley

Wyatt Oakley won Best by Gun, NC Typical Youth Male Award for his Forsyth County buck that was officially scored at 157 4/8. He also won the President’s Award for the deer.

Hayes Parrott

Hayes Parrott won the Best by Muzzleloader, NC Typical Youth Male Award for his Granville County buck. The deer scored 141 0/8.

The Best by Crossbow, NC Typical Youth Male Award went to Tanner Tucker. His Rockingham County buck scored 140 5/8.

Garrett Hilliard

Garrett Hilliard won the Best by Bow NC Typical Youth Male Award for his Granville County buck that was scored at 134 0/8.

Paith Gentry

Paith Gentry won the Non-hunting Award for the buck he found in Person County, NC. The deer scored 149 2/8 inches.

Corey Frye

Corey Frye’s Chatham County buck, which was scored at 156 6/8, won the Best by Bow, NC Nontypical Male Award.

Ben Miller

With his Guilford County buck that scored 164 3/8, Ben Miller won the Best by Crossbow, NC Nontypical Male Award.

Justus Moorefield

Justus Moorefield won the Best by Crossbow, NC Typical Male Award for his Stokes County buck, which was scored at 142 1/8.

Eric Lucas

Eric Lucas won the Best by Muzzleloader, NC Nontypical Male Award for his Harnett County buck. It scored 145 1/8.

David Still

David Still and his Caswell County buck won the Best by Muzzleloader, NC Typical Male Award. His buck scored 165 3/8.

Randy Miller

Randy Miller won the Best by Gun, NC Nontypical Male Award for his Randolph County drop-tine buck, which scored 145 5/8.

Joseph Bullis

The Best in Show Award went to Joseph Bullis for his Alamance County buck, which also earned him the Best by Bow, NC Typical Male Award. The deer scored 166 6/8.

Jonathan Wilson

Winning the Best by Muzzleloader, VA Typical Male Award was Jonathan Wilson with his Halifax County (VA) buck, which scored 138 6/8.

Billy Nahrebecki

With his 155-inch Southampton County (VA) buck, Billy Nahrebecki won the Best by Gun, VA Nontypical Male Award.

Douglas Pickle

Douglas Pickle won Best by Gun, VA Typical Male with his Culpepper County (VA) buck, which scored 147 5/8.

Blake Pike

Blake Pike won Best by Bow, VA Typical Male for his Patrick County (VA) buck, which was scored at 150 5/8. Pike was not present at the show.

Eric Briley
