Bag-A-Buck contest back for 14th year

Prizes offered every month, in addition to grand prize.

North Carolina Sportsman’s Bag-A-Buck 14 contest kicks off this month, with thousands of dollars worth in prizes up for grabs.

The grand-prize package includes a 2-day deer hunt with Fourth Generation Outfitters, a CVA blackpowder rifle, a Leupold rangefinder, a Nikon Pro Staff scope and a Line-X truck bed liner. The grand-prize winner will be selected from all entries, and the prize will be presented at the Dixie Deer Classic in Raleigh next March.

The contest also features monthly drawings. Monthly winners receive a Sportsman T-Shirt and decal, a copy of Ty Conti’s Cooking on the Wild Side cookbook, a truck bed liner from Line-X, a $25 Gift Certificate from Springhill Outfitters, a Tink’s scent kit, Realtree hats and  Monster Buck DVDs, a Plano storage box, ammo grips from God-A-Grip and apparel from Rivers West.

The contest is open to all North Carolina Sportsman subscribers who also are registered members of NorthCarolinaSportsman.com, who can enter uploading a photo of a deer they harvested during the season, or of a live deer, and writing a short account of their hunt.

Registration to NorthCarolinaSportsman.com is free.

Photos and stories will immediately be posted to the Bag-A-Buck online gallery and dedicated reports forum for everyone to enjoy, and contestants will be entered in the monthly and grand prize drawings.

Scott Thurston of Swansboro won last year’s grand prize with an 8-point buck he took at Camp Lejeune last Nov. 8.

“The Bag-A-Buck contest has really brought the best out in our readers over the last several years,” said Dan Kibler, managing editor of North Carolina Sportsman. “It is a real joy to look through the gallery of entries and see the kind of deer our readers are harvesting.”
