Submit bear teeth to NCWRC

Bear tooth submission is mandatory

The NCWRC is reminding North Carolina bear hunters that it is mandatory for hunters to submit a tooth from all harvested bears in the state during the 2023 season.

Successful hunters shold submit at least one premolar tooth no later than Jan. 31, 2024.

Once hunters make their submissions, the NCWRC will send them an age report on their bear, along with a hunter orange Black Bear Cooperator ball cap.

To receive your bear tooth envelope and instructions on the process, visit https://www.ncwildlife.org/Learning/Species/Mammals/Black-Bear and then click on the Cooperator Program tab. A video is also included to show the proper method to remove a bear’s premolars.
