After 4 yrs of bear hunting, I finally killed my first bear on Dec. 17, 2022. It weighed 500 pounds and I killed it in Jones County, NC.
The bear crossed the field behind the house so we called in the dog hunters. The bear was treed in less than an hour. I was about 30 yards from him. I shot him with a 6.5 Creedmoor and two of my bear hunting buddies were with me.
It took three of us to pull him out on a heavy duty 4-wheeler and all nine hunters to get him in the back of the truck.
