Private land alligator hunt in South Carolina’s lowcountry
Friday, May 28, 2021 Will Turner took this 12-foot alligator near the Savannah River in South Carolina, shooting the gator from over 50 yards away with a 22-250. After four back breaking hours, we were able to retrieve the mammoth 12-foot gator from the cypress swamp and place it in the truck. Many more hours followed as Will and his brother, Luke and friends: Bubba and Danny tackled the process of skinning the alligator. The remains of two wild hogs, gar fish, and numerous lead catfish weights were found in the belly of the beast.
