Gator removed from Oak Island neighborhood

Authorities safely removed, relocated the gator

Some Oak Island, N.C. residents noticed a 10-foot long alligator in their yard last week. So they called for help from NCWRC and the Oak Island Police Dept. The agencies teamed up to help remedy the situation. Here’s a video of them safely and humanely capturing the gator to relocate it to a safe area.

It’s mating season for alligators across the southeast. So the reptiles often venture off the beaten path (or on it, depending on your point of view) looking for potential mates. Thanks to “Adventure Steve” of Adventure Outdoors for taking the video.

Don’t forget the deadline to apply for South Carolina’s 2021 alligator hunting season is June 15!
