Special device attaches to gap between dock boards to hold your vessel tight
Perhaps when turned just right, The Dock Key may roughly resemble a key, but what it really resembles is the freedom to tie your runabout, fishing boat or personal watercraft to just about any dock, at any time. Cleats aren’t always where you would like them to be, but The Dock Key can be placed right where it is wanted or needed on almost any dock.
The Dock Key, designed and engineered on the lakes around Charlotte, N.C., is an innovative way to make boating easier, safer, and more accessible. It is the newest and most innovative way to dock your vessel and will benefit anyone, from the raw novice to a seasoned old salt.
Using The Dock Key is as simple as 1-2-3. It is designed to allow you to dock your vessel without having to disembark or lean over the side. As long as the dock has planking that has at least a gap of between 3/16- and ¾-inches, you’re in business.
When it’s time to tie up for refueling, catching lunch or when launching or retrieving your boat, there are three simple and easy steps for using The Dock Key. Insert the large ring of The Dock Key in the gap between any two dock boards. Turn The Dock Key 90 degrees while positioning the elbow toward the boat or PWC. Set The Dock Key by placing it behind the closest cross-beam to the vessel. Once The Dock Key is in place, simply tie to the small ring and your vessel will stay there.
The Dock Key is made from stainless steel to hold up to either fresh or salt water environments. It can also be used to help tie to pilings. For more information call 704-773-3402 or visit www.thedockkey.com.
