Franklin County CWD

NCWRC has confirmed a female deer, harvested by a hunter in Franklin County, NC, has tested positive for Chronic Wasting Disease. It’s the first case of CWD in Franklin County.

This finding means Franklin County will become a Primary County, where hunters must abide by certain special regulations concerning deer. These rules will go into place at the start of the 2024 fall deer hunting season.
