Dear Carolina Sportsman,
My Wife, Kim Massengill caught a fat and healthy 28″ speckled trout on February 19th, in a creek off the lower Neuse River in Pamlico County, NC. The fish took a 1/4 oz jig with a 3″ Minnow Z in Tater Salad color in 3 feet of water. Water temps are up to 60 degrees in the lower Neuse creeks, which has put the fish on the move making them hard to find. It was the only bite we got in that creek all afternoon.
