Correction From May NCS: Brown’s Island Restricted Area

The location of the Brown’s Island Restricted Area was not accurately described in the Newsbreaker regarding this restricted area in the May issue of North Carolina Sportsman Magazine.

The correct location of the restricted area includes Brown’s Island and a portion of the north end of Onslow Beach. Brown’s Island is bordered by Bear Inlet at the north end and Brown’s Inlet at the south end.

The Onslow Beach portion of the restricted zone is located to the south of Brown’s Inlet and extends part of the way southward along Onslow Beach toward New River Inlet.

The location of this entire restricted zone is marked on current navigational charts of the area.
