Team Catch 22 wins Midlands Striper Club’s March tournament

The Lexington-based team of Terry Caulder, Jacob Caulder and Terry Martin, Team Catch 22, won the March 17 Midlands Striper Club tournament on Lake Murray.

Team Catch 22 brought in four fish that weighed 40 pounds, three ounces, to take first place overall in the 31-team field. They also won big-fish honors with an 18-pound, 11-ounce fish.

Another Lexington-based team, Team Gar-Heart with Shawn Gearheart, John Sightler and Woody Barnes, took second with 35 pounds, 13 ounces.

David Richardson and Tristan Richardson of Aiken and John Ramsey and Phillip Ramsey of New Ellington were third with 35-9.

The Youth Trophy went to Jacob Caulder of Team Catch 22, and Debbie Alwine of Team Jon Boy won the Lady Angler trophy.

More than 80 fishermen participated in the tournament, with 31 teams bringing 112 stripers to the scales – 26 boats weighed in a limit.
