SCDNR Freshwater Fisheries program enhances the state’s fishing waters

When most people hear the letters SCDNR, they immediately think of game wardens. The Palmetto State certainly has a good crop of those, but there is much more to SCDNR than the law enforcement division.

The department’s Freshwater Fisheries program is one vital part that keeps the state’s waters in good shape. This is good for local anglers as well as organizations like FLW, BASS, and Major League Fishing, who bring in huge revenue to the state by holding national fishing tournaments on our waters.

Ross Self, SCDNR’s Chief of Freshwater Fisheries, tells a little about what the program is all about.
