The Forrest Wood Cup of FLW Outdoors will take place at Pittsburgh at the Three Rivers area July 30-Aug. 2, 2009.

Dubbed the world’s richest bass-fishing championship with its first-place prize of $1million in cash and merchandise, the FLW event is returning to the site of the 2005 Bassmaster Classic where Michigan’s Kevin Van Dam won with a record-low weight of 12 pounds, 15 ounces.

Pittsburgh officials believe the largemouth and spotted bass fisheries will be more productive this time because of continuous water quality improvement efforts.
