Lambeth scores big check at Kerr BFL

Chris Brown finished second in the American Bass Anglers tournament on Tuckertown Lake in mid-April with 18.35 pounds, including these lunkers.

George Lambeth of Thomasville took the first-place prize of $4,359 at the June 13 Wal-Mart BFL Piedmont Division event at Kerr Lake. His haul of 15 pounds, 12 ounces was caught on jigs.

Other top finishers were: Carl Ward of Durham, second with 14-15 for $2,179; David Wright of Lexington, third, with 14-1 for $1,452; and Nathan Webber of Boone, fourth, with 12-13 for $1,017.

Gurney Hoffman of Richlands placed first among co-anglers with a catch of 11-9, winning $2,175. His catch included the co-angler big fish, a 4-pound, 3-ounce bass that paid $307.

Co-angler Orlando Giles of Lexington placed fifth with 8-3 and collected $435.

 

Huskins third at Clarks Hill

Brian Huskins of Mount Holly finished third with 10 pounds, 12 ounces, and won $1,201 at the June 13 Wal-Mart BFL South Carolina Division tournament at Clarks Hill Lake.

Co-angler Bobby Henderson of Charlotte was second with 9-4 and won $898. He also had the co-angler big fish, a 6-pound, 8-ounce bass that was worth $230.

Charlotte’s Robert Derrick Jr., another co-angler, finished fifth with 8-1 and banked $355.

 

Baldwin third in All-American

Chris Baldwin of Lexington finished third with 22.15 pounds in the Wal-Mart BFL All-American on the Mississippi River out of Davenport, Iowa, on May 28-30.

Baldwin won $14,000 for fishing third and took home a $9,000 contingency bonus from Ranger Boats.

John Hyatt of Leicester finished third among the co-anglers with 12-12. His check was for $5,000.

 

Two women finish in money

Co-anglers Linda Berry of Madison and Michelle Gunderman of Gastonia finished in the money at the June 4-6 Women’s Bassmaster Tour event at Lake Maumelle out of Little Rock, Ark.

Berry finished 12th with 8-5 and won $427; Gunderman finished 19th with 6-15 and banked $290.
