Blue Water Promotions Announces 2007 Kingfish Classic Series

The 2007 Kingfish Classic Series features five tournaments of which anglers must participate in three to be eligible for the final series prizes.

Blue Water Promotions of St. Marys, Georgia has announced the dates and location for their five event 2007 Kingfish Classic Series and three of the events are in the North Carolina and South Carolina Sportsman coverage areas.

The 2007 Kingfish Classic Series will include tournaments in St. Marys, GA. on June 29 and 30, Charleston, S.C. on July 27 and 28, New Smyrna, FL. on August 10 and 11, Brunswick Islands, N.C. on August 31 and September 1 and Savannah, GA. on September 21 and 22.

All of the tournaments will feature final registration and a Captains Meeting on Friday, with one day of fishing on Saturday.  Sunday will be reserved as a weather day and the events will be rescheduled if the marine weather forecast in the immediate area of the tournament includes a small craft advisory or worse conditions.

There will not be a check out and the events do not include boundaries.  Check-in at the end of the day is recommended and to encourage it, five special prizes will be given at each event for those boats that check-in but do not receive a prize for placing in the tournament.

Each tournament will feature prizes to 15 places overall, plus 5 places each to the Class of 23 Boats, Lady Anglers, Senior Anglers, Youth Anglers and those boats who check-in but do not place in the money otherwise.  While the complete payout is based on 275 boats, the first 7 places are guaranteed.  First prize at all events in a new, 2007 GMC Sierra Crew Cab Truck, plus $20,000.

In another unique twist, there will be a Grand Prize drawing at the end of each Captains Meeting.  In a 1 in 100 Lucky Envelope Drawing, one registered captain will be selected to draw an envelope for the grand prize.  The grand prize is a 34 Yellowfin Center Console, powered by triple Mercury 275 Verado outboards, complete with a Raymarine electronics package and carried on a Loadmaster trailer.  One envelope will have a certificate for the grand prize, while the remaining 99 envelopes will have certificates for $2,000 in cash.  Every boat is automatically entered in the Grand Prize Drawing when they register.

The series will pay points in each event toward crowning a Series Champion.  The points will begin at 1,000 points for first place, 999 points for second place and continue to decrease at one point per place.  Those entrants not catching fish will be awarded points equaling the placing of the smallest fish weighed (10 pound minimum) less 50 points.

Participants must fish a minimum of three events, of which the Savannah tournament must be included, to be eligible for the series prizes.  Those participants who fish more than three events will have their points total based on their best three tournaments.  The Series Championship includes $50,000 in prize money to 10 places.  First place is $15,000 and the amount decreases to $1,500 at tenth place.

North Carolina Sportsman Magazine and South Carolina Sportsman Magazine are proud to join the other fine sponsors of this up and coming kingfish series.  It is sure to be a resounding hit with tournament anglers.
