Lexington County 14-point buck

Hunter: Craig Hannah. This 14 point buck was shot in Lexington County, SC, at about 7:45pm on 09/26/2020. I have always referred to him as “crabclaw” due to his crab like points on his main beam. I have been hunting this deer through the 2018 and 2019 season. From game cameras he only appeared only one time during shooting hours on those two seasons and that was Christmas day, 2019. Of course, I was not hunting. I decided during the 2020 season I was not going to shoot any other deer other than him. Since the bucks seem to be following the does already, I rattled very lightly on 09/26/2020 at about 7:30pm. I had two 8 points make an appearance within 10 minutes. I watched them seem to be intimidated by something else in the woods and soon they left. AT LAST my deer made his appearance and gave me a humane shot. He didn’t take a step. I’m thankful to God for making such a deer and thankful to my wife who is a “deer widow” and lets me hunt each season.
