27-pound turkey was hot on the roost
Trent Hartis killed this huge gobbler on April 7, 2024 in York County, SC. The bird weighed a whopping 27 pounds. It had a 10-inch beard and 1 9/16-inch spurs.
“It was gobbling hard on the roost and flew down at 7:03 a.m., then came in spitting and drumming to 25 yards. I shot it with Hevi 18 TSS No. 7s,” said Hartis.
