Monster gobbler had double beards

Alyssa Redmon, 9-years-old from Spartanburg, S.C., killed a monster gobbler on her first-ever turkey hunt. The double-bearded bird weighed 21 1/2 pounds and sported 1 1/8-inch spurs. The longest beard measured 7 inches in length, with the second one taping out at 1/2 inch.

She killed the gobbler in Spartanburg County on Saturday, March 26 during the youth season for Game Zones 1 & 2. She was hunting with her stepdad Jesse Jordan. Redmon killed the turkey with a Mossberg .410 pump shooting Browning TSS ammo.

“It was 40 degrees when we walked into the woods well before daylight,” said Jordan.

Redmon is now the latest entrant in our Tag-A-Turkey contest. Click here to check out all the entrants and to enter your gobbler.
