Caleb Shaver killed this bearded hen in Wilson County on his last eligible youth hunt on April 1, 2023. The bird had a beard length of 8.75 inches and weighed 9.14 pounds. He is having it mounted.
Bearded hens are legal to shoot in North Carolina. In South Carolina, shooting a bearded hen is not legal.
