8-year-old first turkey with crossbow
This is my step-daughter Bexley Fredrickson’s first turkey she has killed. She is 8-years-old and shot it with a crossbow at 35 yards. We worked two gobblers across an oak ridge early that morning. Both birds came in very quickly and she could not get on them fast enough before they got by. A few minutes later, a third bird slipped in on us that had not gobbled. She was able to stay calm and be patient until she could get a good shot off. The bird weighed 20 pounds, had 1-inch spurs, and had a 10-inch beard. The bird was killed in Burke County, NC.
