Benjamin Wilson’s Nash County gobbler

Nash County

Benjamin Wilson killed this gobbler in Nash County, NC on April 22, 2023. It’s his biggest bird to date, and he said it was an old warrior, and the bird of a lifetime. It sported an 11 3/4-inch beard. One spur measured 1 7/8 inches, and the other was 1 3/4 inches long.

Wilson hunted the gobbler for 2 weeks, with the bird winning the cat and mouse game up until the morning of this hunt, when the hunter’s .410 did its job and finished the match.
