His dad also killed a gobbler on same hunt

Five-year-old Brody Welch killed his first gobbler on March 22, 2023 in Williamsburg County. His bird weighed 17 pounds, had a 10-inch beard and sported 1-inch spurs.

It was a special hunt for the youngster, and not just because he killed his first turkey. His dad, Daniel Welch, also killed a turkey during the same hunt.

“Not only did my son kill his first bird, we doubled up,” said Daniel Welch.
