Carston Campbell’s Wayne County gobbler

No we didn’t get up early Carston and I, we slept in and let the early birds scatter. We arrived about 9:30-10am.

Birds were still gobbling while we were setting up. Unfortunately they were on neighbors land and not moving much due to the high winds. I could see several hens in the wheat fields bedded down.

We packed up and were litterly getting into truck when a bird gobbles on neighbors property and he was close. I yelped and he responded. Nothing happened for 30 min.

If you notice in the first video Carston’s gun is facing the wrong direction. What we think is the birds crossed the path out of our field of view. I happened to look towards where the truck was parked and they had circled and came in behind us.

We had to patiently wait to move gun mere inches at the time to get the gun on the gobbler. About 15min. Once there, you get to see the end result!!

Carston is one happy tired boy, but I sure am proud of his patience and ability to stick with for a few hours.

Unloaded and loaded truck twice in the same spot. WOW!! God is Good!!
