The wrong bird?
Jackson Faulk, 17-years-old, bagged his last ever Youth Day turkey on April 10, 2024. The bird weighed 24 pounds, a weight I have never achieved myself. The beard was a superb 10.5 inches. The story of the spurs, only 1 inch long.
The bird that was with the one my son took had “daggers,” and during the excitement, he shot the wrong bird!
“The excitement of killing “daggers” was quickly drowned by “I shot the wrong bird!”
I didn’t know what to think or say, but just as quickly as he said that, he looked back around at me, while he jumped up smiling!
I’ll eat this gorgeous bird and come back next week and try Daggers’ game out to see if he wants to play turkey!
