23-pound gobbler was an Easter Sunday treat

Douglas George of Gaffney, S.C. was hunting in Cherokee County on Easter Sunday when he killed a 23-pound gobbler. The big bird had a thick, 11-inch beard and a set of long, beautiful spurs.

Hunters continue to kill quality longbeards throughout both Carolinas. Click here if you’d like your photo and story featured at Carolina Sportsman.
