Natalie asked to go turkey hunting last fall. After weeks of practicing with her new savage 301 .410 she was ready. Opening morning started early at 4:30 to make it to grandpa’s hunting grounds, and getting into the blind in the dark awaiting the morning gobbles. The morning started early with gobbles in the distance and slowly working closer. Around 8:30, grandpa noticed a jake at 5 yards from the blind. Excitement in the blind rose to a new level and Natalie got the gun up and ready. At 25 yards, she made the shot count and harvested her first turkey.
