Rob Bennett bags 13-point buck in Orangeburg County

13-point buck weighed 213+ pounds

Taking a break from his fishing charter, Kiawah Fishing, Capt. Rob Bennett headed to the woods in pursuit of a 13-point buck he’d been seeing on camera at his hunting property in Orangeburg County, SC. He killed the 13-point buck, which weighed 213.96 pounds, in late September 2026.

Although the buck appeared on his trail cameras regularly, it didn’t show up during shooting hours all season. But a change in the weather, Bennett thought, just might prompt the buck into doing just that.

“I had a lot of pictures of him at night, but he never would come out in the daylight. I never sat for him, knowing his pattern,” said Bennett. “But when the temperature dropped that day, I made my move.”

The move paid off.

“I told myself to get in the stand, and at 6:30, he made his first and last daytime mistake. Lights out,” he said.
