10-year-Old Colton Cates tags out in Durham County North Carolina with Giant Buck.
On November 09, 2023, Colton Cates harvested his second big buck of the season. Colton shot the big buck at 40 yards with a muzzle loader. After the smoke cleared the big buck was laying dead in his tracks. The buck weighed 176 lbs and had an 18 inch inside spread. The Buck is a typical 9 pointer with a couple of stickers on the base. Colton encountered this buck several times during the bow and muzzle loader season but was not able to get the buck close enough for a good shot.
Earlier in the year during bow and arrow season Colton harvested a big buck with his crossbow at 40 yards. The buck weighed 192 lbs and had a 17 inch inside spread.
Colton has had a great 2023 deer season so far.
