As I sat one of my favorite stands for this first time this season, I had a beautiful 9 point step out about 60 yards from my stand. I was able to harvest the buck and get on the board for the season. 16 inch spread, 165 pounds. I was thrilled!
I go back out that afternoon, just enjoying the nice weather and beginning of rut. I was ending my sit when another beautiful buck stepped out. Mind you, this is a different stand and property. I then, took my shot and harvested another trophy buck. This one, 8 point, 168 pounds.
This will go down as one of my most memorable and meaningful hunting experiences. To get the chance to harvest not one, but two beautiful animals in the same day, is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I thank God for the chance to do what I love!
