Afternoon

Just sat down for my first evening hunt of the trip. While sitting, I knocked one of my gloves off the stand. I sneak down and get it back. I sit back in the stand and not 5 minutes later a doe comes out to my right. Shortly after she steps out the buck is right behind her. I could tell he was chasing. He stopped and was panting hard. This was my first experience getting to see that. He did that for a few minutes while the doe was eating. She started to leave and he stood there for what seemed like an eternity. He was facing me as I was waiting for him to turn so I can get the rifle ready. Once he turned behind a tree, I was ready to go. He stepped back out giving me a shot. Bang…I saw him run about 40 yards in front of the stand and then it hit me….buck fever. Awesome hunt and truly blessed. Good lord provided me with my second only buck I’ve got to take. Quick evening hunt that will last forever.
