Stanly County Buck

I came to North Carolina for a three day hunt with my friend and coworker.. I was holding out for 140+ inch deer. I saw this deer on the last day of the hunt in the morning and he was at 70 yards but the only shot I had was in his rear as he was facing away from me. I did a little early afternoon scouting after the morning hunt and found a spot that looked good. That afternoon, I began to see deer movement early and often as does and a small buck moved in and out through the field. At about 430pm the buck stepped out with a doe and i immediately knew he was a shooter. I was able to watch him for about five minutes. It appeared that he was going to leave the field with the doe. I was in an enclosed octagon shaped tree stand. I ranged the deer at 234 yards. I was able to use the ledge of the tree stand to steady my rifle. I was using a Winchester .243 with a Leopold 3 x 9 scope. I aimed about four inches above his heart and slowly pulled the trigger and the deer dropped in his tracks. The deer weighted 175 pounds. He has not been officially scored yet.
