I had been hunting all week since archery season opened Monday. I was planning on heading back, but the day was a busy one. So I wasn’t able to slip in until later than I personally like to get in the woods. But something just told me to try and slip in the woods anyways. So I got in about 6:30 that evening, not expecting to see much. I watched a few does at first. Then about an hour later, a smaller buck stepped out and three Toms. So I was watching them, and a few minutes later this buck stepped out of the woods. He presented me with a shot at around 20 yards. I was hunting with my Hoyt RX-5 compound bow. My arrow did a complete pass through, and he only ran around 30-40 yards. It was a great and memorable hunt!
