7-point buck weighed 180 pounds
I have been waiting for this deer and feeding it all season. It finally came out and I was able to close the deal.
Colton Toms, 13-years-old from Forest City, NC, killed a 7-point buck in Rutherford County on Oct. 19, 2023 during a morning hunt. The young hunter shot the buck while sitting in a stand overlooking a wooded area. He was familiar with the deer, having observed it through the use of trail cameras leading up to the hunt.
“I have been waiting for this deer and feeding it all season,” he said. “It finally came out and I was able to close the deal.”
Toms was using a Mission Bow and had to do a little bit of tracking after the shot to find the deer. The buck weighed 180 pounds.
