I was dog hunting when a big 10 point buck came slipping through the swamp. I had been sitting down, but as soon as I stood up, I caught my chance. I leveled my 12 gauge automatic and took the shot at 62 yards. He didn’t drop right away, instead he pushed about 500 yards before the dogs finally bayed him up.
It was one of those hunts that keeps your adrenaline pumping start to finish. The chase through the swamp, the dogs working, and finally catching up to that buck made it an unforgettable experience.
