My first whitetail buck

Sat down in the blind with my wife at 5pm, seen nothing for almost 2 hours aside from the occasional red bird flying through the thickets. Around 6:30 a slight drizzle began to move in and the sky started to darken quickly temps dropped 6-7 degrees quickly as well. With rain moving in I had made a decision to call the hunt at 7pm as it was getting dark and cold quickly and rain was picking up. With little daylight left I was scanning the area with the scope on the rifle looking for movement. At 6:51 pm I saw movement from the right side of the clearing, I brought my scope over to where I saw the movement come from. There stood a deer at about 85-90 yards, I clicked the safety off that old savage 30-06 put the crosshair right behind the shoulder and squeezed. My adrenaline was so much I don’t recall hearing the shot. The deer ran up the incline of the clearing made a right and started walking away, it stopped about 105 yards out. At this point I had already racked another round and the rain was getting heavy i didnt want to have to blood trail and lose it because of the rain so I put the gun back on the deer and squeezed the trigger, I watched the deer drop right there. By this point it is a monsoon, I walked to where he came out and the first shot was fired and saw good consistent blood leading up the incline, following it and having my wife stop at every spot I see blood, and I shine my light up the clearing and about 10 yards in front of me I see the white backside of the deer. I run to greet the magnificent creature that has given its life so that my family and I can eat the purest form of food on this earth. I make sure to feel his fur and antlers and thank him for his sacrifice.
